If you get there and you can see a desktop and the start button works then it is possibly a startup program/service that is causing this issue - perhaps you installed new software, or a driver has been updated. I have tried turning the computer off and turning it back on, pressing fn+f8 (which is the only key that has what looks like a touchpad on it), but all that that did was bring up a "project" screen, disabling and re-enabling the touchpad through the basic I also checked the device status and it says that it is working properly. I have checked the touchpad settings, and it says that it is enabled. Touchpad to stop working, and searching for an answer has yielded no answers. He did not touch the touchpad, nor did he get anywhere near the function keys, but I do not know if there is some random configuration of keys that aren't function keys that can cause the Old, who was sitting in my lap, reached out and smacked the keyboard.

It should be noted that, after I finished booting it up but before I clicked the screen to make the picture go away so that I could log in, my 2 year After I started it back up, the touchpad was no longer responding. It was working fine and I shut down my computer, and then I remembered that there was something else that I had wanted to do and I started it back up. As the topic says, my touchpad has stopped working.
